Nick Topitzes, the founder and President of PC/NAMETAG, is a CMP and has planned and run hundreds of meetings over the last 30 years.  In the early 1980s Nick was in the advertising business and had clients for whom he planned meetings.  At a tradeshow, one of his exhibitors complained that he could not read the state-of-the-art nametags Nick provided.  (They were typed with an IBM Selectric typewriter).  The exhibitor continued to rant that he was embarrassed when he did not recognize his best customer.  This got Nick thinking.  Could he give each attendee and exhibitor a nametag that could be read from 10 feet away?  There was no product like this to print nametags on the market.  So, Nick hired a programmer and developed the first version of PC/NAMETAG software and a new business was born.

Each year since then, PC/NAMETAG has gotten their best product ideas when they have run meetings and exhibited at tradeshows.  Each year they tweak and develop products to make the job of planning meetings less stressful and to make it easier for attendees to meet and get acquainted.
