Generative AI: What is it and how it is used in events?

“Generative AI” involves using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to generate creative, original content including text, images, videos, presentations, and more.

Generative AI tools can help streamline almost every aspect of the event marketing process. For instance, event marketers can use AI to automate or facilitate the creation of emails, event schedules, blogs, social media posts, website content, video clips, and more. (Read on to find more ideas!)

Today’s event professionals are utilizing generative AI to increase efficiency, add personalization to content, and streamline the attendee experience. AI tools can also drastically reduce work-related stress and spark creativity in the event planning process.

Quick Tips for Creating a Great ChatGPT Prompt

Before we dive into specific ideas for marketing your event, here are a few tips to keep in mind when using ChatGPT and other generative AI tools to get the response you’re looking for:

  1. Be specific: If you want your response to be given to you in a numbered list, in a table, or within a certain number of characters, mention that in your prompt!
  2. Ask for tweaks: If the response isn’t quite right, directly respond with an altered query. Ask something like, “Can you try again using a more conversational tone?” or "Can you provide more examples?" ChatGPT will remember previous answers and build on them.
  3. Make it fun: You can tell ChatGPT to include emojis and hashtags in its response, which is especially helpful when crafting copy for social media or email subject lines.
  4. Get clarification: It may sound strange, but if you want to know how ChatGPT came up with its response, you can ask for more context. Try asking "Can you provide a rationale for that answer?"
